“The Graduates Strike Back”
My wife, who's completed education is a boulder to her Sisyphus, teaches undergraduate classes as a Graduate Assistant. People in this position have their own classwork as well as teach undergrad classes, and get paid a pittance to do it. The university she attends sought to reduce the benefits (or the ability to reduce them without oversight) at the cost of losing qualified assistants. Profit vs. quality for a taxpayer-funded educational institution is a lousy tradeoff, so the kids went on strike, and after two days the University caved. It was impressive, even for a committed capitalist like myself. This was the last day of bargaining before the strikes, and it lasted about 7 hours.
