I finally spent some time sanding and staining the top of the table. I ended up at a 220 grit, which made it feel really smooth. After cleaning up with some air and tack cloth, I applied linseed oil for the stain. In a few weeks I'll seal it with a few coats of a matte finish, and put this dumb behemoth together.
