“Early sanctuary work”

All the walls were covered in plaster and lath, as was the ceiling. They had framed and sheetrocked a bathroom, kitchen, and stairwell. All of this needed to go before proceeding.
SW corner of the sanctuary 2nd floor - planned as a study or home office-ish thing. The belltower is on the other side of the far wall.
East end of the sanctuary, 2nd floor. Imaging this, with a better ceiling and the floor cut out to reveal the whole window...
Looking at the southern notch in the sanctuary. On the first floor this was where the stage was for the pastor
A kitchen, bath, stairwell combo in the middle of the sanctuary (it must be destroyed!)
The dumpster of love, awaiting gifts from above.
This me, cutting a hatch directly above the dumpster, so we can make a friend of gravity.

After much drywall removal (looking west)
Sanctuary view (facing east)
Not posed at all
I find this method is best to prevent marring the wood surface.
Sanctuary view after much wire removal and tear out.
Pile o' studs to be disposed of or salvaged.

Me and my reciprocating saw. Looking like a terrorist. I called for a fatwa on drywall.
Same loft, other direction
The big picture
The soon-to-be-destroyed stairwell
Newly torn out bathroom area and stairwell
The first salvo of plaster attacks

The end of the beginning
Repetition and order are reassuring signs the sky isn't going to fall anytime soon
More rafter goodness
This is look up and towards the west end of the sanctuary
What lies above the plaster - this is looking up towards the intersection of all 4 peaks
No mercy for the plastered hordes!

The Hammer takes a rest
Sally likes to end with a flourish
Mere words fail me
This is like tanning without risking your skin
