T
he above title comes from some seriously weird song that I no longer remember. Sad but true. It might be
The Dead Milkmen. Speaking of t00nz, I finally downloaded a new version of
Kazaa Lite the other day. This is one of the file-swapping programs the
RIAA would like to see go away. The RIAA is the basically the Recording Industry mafia. These folks are crazy-go-nuts when it comes to holding on to a bloated and increasingly ineffective business model. They scream piracy, which is true. They are just too flaming stuck on trying to litigate away their problems rather than offering a decently priced easy means of distribution.
Take Apple's
iTunes for example. 99 cents per song, $9.99 for a whole album. The prices will drop as competitors enter the market, but the key here is that for slightly less than your price at the store, you can pick up tons of music electronically, and more importantly, legally. There have been tons of articles written about it, but the point is SOMEBODY is capitalizing now and going to realize a profit. This is really a dead horse that thousands have been beating. So I'm not sure why I'm joining in now...
What's everyone else up to this summer. Who's going on the coolest vacation?
