I
won't lie to you. I was pretty sure I'd never get this beastly site running again. I pretty much left it for dead back in... May of 2007. The plan was a quick rebuild of the guts that ran the site using all the latest gimcrackery because it just seemed like time for an update.
It took a bit longer than planned.
So what are you gonna do? It's 4am now, and I've spent all weekend rushing it out the door because I got petty excited that the dumb thing had some life left in it. Everything has been rebuilt, and much of it works. I've never looked at the site in Internet Explorer, and I'm sore afraid to do so, because things never work right in that abomination.
A lot of the work went into migrating the 4,000+ photos that were organized and stored on the old site. They're a bit of a boat anchor every time I want to move or rebuild the site. I finally planted them all at www.flickr.com and said "enough." With luck it will speed up some things and make it much easier to go from camera to dazzling web site glory.
So for whoever still stops by, this is for you, because you are truly hardcore (and possibly a little hard up for entertainment). Your message for the evening: eyepulp is back.
PS: While writing this and within 10 minutes of the site going live, I had a true and for real spam comment. No joke. Spammers are some of the hardest working scum of the earth you'll find. I appreciate their quick testing of my (obviously) basic comment system. We'll get that fixed shortly. In the mean time, if anyone notices a problem, let me know.
Fancy comments are frowned upon - your WWW links will work though.
