e just survived another Halloween at the old, creepy church. Thanks to the
archive I see 4 years ago when we first bought the place were still
struggling with our own
horrors and presumably didn't have the energy left to dole out any terror to others. Well, the worm has turned now, and we spent all of $20 and about two hours of the afternoon preparing our lair for the unsuspecting kiddies.
Menard's had 50% off of their Halloween goodies, so we bought out their remaining supply of Eyeball Path Lights

and threw in some orange porch lights to really set the mood. Sally always insists that we have full-size candy bars on hand, so we established a strong presence on the corner for all passers-by. As it got dark, we put a radio in the window playing Orson Well's War of The Worlds broadcast, which echoed off the nearby houses and made our street just a little creepier. Naturally, we rang the bell when anyone tried to walk past, hoping they could escape our sugary grasp.
The turnout was good, and my brother even swung by with my nephews, niece, sister-in-law, and parents to take delivery of some 3 Musketeers and pixie stix. I can't wait until our home becomes a fun place to visit even when it isn't Halloween.
I uploaded a bunch of photos from the continued work on the new office. We're slated to start moving in some time after Thanksgiving, but we have run into some serious issues lately with flooding in the basement. Things are looking really nice on the top-side, however, and the details are starting to come together nicely.
