his is really becoming a bad habit, and in no way passes for a legitimate post, but I spend far too much time trying to divine wisdom and guidance from the depths of Craigslist; I can't help but share.
oh joy
Santa Claus print FROM MEIJER (champaign)
from craigslist | arts/crafts for sale in champaign urbana
IN SEARCH OF FRAMED ART BOUGHT AT MEIJER THIS LAST CHRISTMAS....THE PRINT IS SANTA 'S FACE WITH IMAGES OF CHILDREN IN HIS BEARD!!!!! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SELL EMAIL ME AT [redacted]@YAHOO.COM
I should mention I don't read Craigslist directly - I read it through a bunch of RSS feeds into Google Reader. This is like reading the TV listings out of the newspaper (remember TV listings? Heck, remember newspapers?) versus watching a commercial on TV - I just get plain text unless I actually click to view the original post. And plain text forces me to imagine the possibilities. Truth be told, there might be a photo with this ad that could clear up a few things - I didn't bother to check as I'm sure what I see in my mind's eye is probably exactly like what this person is hankering for.
So back to the ad above. I'm on the fence as to who more readily earns their place on a neighborhood watch list; Is it the mega-corporation hawking some sort of creepily Santa-themed oddity that weaves the remains of children into his facial hair like crumbs from a messy cannibal? Or the desperate, caps-locked consumer who spends 10 months longing for such a grisly visage and is willing to pay money to see it again?
Check that, I totally missed the title: Santa Claus print FROM MEIJER (champaign). Note only part of that suffers from the inane use of caps (which indicates intent rather than a mysterious spill on an unseen keyboard, inadvertently GLUING DOWN A CERTAIN KEY). In my head I hear "FROM MEIJER" take on a special, almost mystical import. Yeah, it's a Santa Claus print, who the heck cares. But dude, it's the one from friggin' MEIJER!! That's the limited edition one that they only made 45,000 copies of! Hook me UP!
