A
h, New Years. The ceaseless march through the 4th dimension continues, un-abated. Anyone out there better for it? Have we all learned valuable lessons in the last 365 1/4 days? Sounds like America has stepped up to the challenge...
I had plans to go to some radio station sponsored hotel New Years party with CPA. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of hanging out with drunk strangers, but CPA is fun to hang out with, and she already bought the ticket. Well all of that's looking sketchy now, mainly because she's stood me up twice now to deal with boy troubles from her past. I hate being kept in the dark, or treated in a "need to know" manner. We all have problems with the opposite sex. That's life. I'm just kind of ticked off at the moment, and I think I might go visit some non-strangers in other towns tonight.
Well, as usual, the Lord has a way of giving me a wake-up call to reality. I just got a forwarded message regarding the folks we stayed with in Somalia. Apparently one of their family's friends was gunned down in the capital city. No further info at this point. So for those inclined to do so, please pray for the health and safety of the folks over there. Their work is important, and not everyone welcomes their help and charity.
Happy new years. Welcome 2003, which already promises to be more violent, bloody, and angry than any year before it.
