And another one bites
Thursday, January the 2nd at 11:53 AM in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Three (10 years, 4 months ago)

...the dust. Buh-bye '02, hola '03. Resolutions are for schmucks, and since I'm a schmuck... No, there will no resolutions from me. My resolutions creep out of my mouth over the course of the year. They live and die on their own schedule, and no one else's.
I had about as good a new year's as single people can have. I think. I mentioned before that I was going to cancel the local plans with CPA, which I did. She was understanding. I went west and landed at Matt & Cindy's blowout bash. Where did I spend most of the time? In the garage with Shep. Never let a party get in the way of a good conversation. =)
At about 11:30 I headed over to Bret and Lisa's (who I tend to spend many of the final minutes of new years with...). David and Melissa were there as well as a girl we went to high school with (and her husband, you nosy people =). I got to chat it up with Bret & Lisa after the party, and it was really nice to catch up with them. They've got some neat opportunities in their lives, and it's fun to do the "what if" scenarios.
Had a date last night with a girl who wrote me through yahoo. Weird date. Good weird, but weird nonetheless. She's getting her masters at ISU in sociology, and seems to like the area. The weird part is all related to her returning to the dating world after being off the market for a while. It sounded like I was the first "real" (such as it is) date she had been on in a while. She was pretty nervous. I kept saying we could end the misery (and the date) any time, but she claimed she was having a good time. Lying through her teeth, no doubt.
I'll be blunt; This girl was pretty, funny, and smart. I'm sort of hoping we get to go out again. I told her if she would like to make it a group date with some of her friends, that'd be fine. I'd like to see how she acts around her friends...very telling, that would be... (yoda mode is ON)
Ah well, she probably had a horrible time, so this won't be an issue anyhow... (go go gadget optimism!)
The upside, the date was on Jan 01, so remembering anniversaries would be a snap... =)
